Standard hours end at 5 PM, and freight does not always agree. Work past that is available at published surcharges, charged on when the work actually happens rather than when the driver pulled in.

How after-hours work is arranged
Standard hours first

5 to 7 PM
A $150 surcharge on top of the normal handling rates for work performed in that window.
7 to 8 PM
A $250 surcharge for work performed between seven and the 8:00 PM cut-off.
After 8 PM
A $350 surcharge, and a manager has to confirm it by phone in advance. This is not something to turn up and hope for. Weekends are arranged the same way.
Charged on work, not on arrival
The surcharge follows the hour the work is actually performed. Arriving at 4:45 PM does not make an 8 PM restack a daytime job. It cuts the other way too: arrive at 6 PM and be worked at 6:15, and that is a 5 to 7 PM job, not a 7 to 8 PM one.

The same work as any other hour: cross-dock, transload, restack, unload, storage in and out.

These are the published rates. Oversized, damaged, unstable and non-standard freight may need custom pricing, and final charges can be confirmed by management after inspection.

What we need to arrange after-hours work
A warehouse cannot price freight it cannot see. Send these and you get a real number instead of a range.
- What the work is — cross-dock, transload, restack, unload
- What time the truck actually arrives, and what time the work needs to be finished
- Pallet or carton count, and whether the freight is palletized
- Whether it is going straight back out or staying
- For anything past 8:00 PM or on a weekend, as much notice as you can give — a manager has to confirm it by phone
- Photos, if the freight condition is uncertain
