Most warehouse geography arguments are about how fast you can reach customers. This one is simpler: at Carlstadt you are not driving toward the density, you start inside it. In a conventional network, freight bound for a metro-area delivery is stored somewhere cheap, line-hauled into the market, sorted at a delivery terminal, then loaded onto a local truck.
